Georgia Sweethearts

Both Benjamin Watson and his wife, Kirsten, embraced their platforms in Georgia and Boston. Like Watson, Kirsten also studied at the University of Georgia and was involved with FCA. “We met at FCA at Georgia,” said Kirsten. “That’s why we always say that FCA plays a huge role in our lives.”

A member of the Bulldogs’ softball team, Kirsten now works for Northeastern University’s Sport and Society, a non-profit organization that seeks to create positive social change through sports. She takes the opportunity to share her faith with young girls at FCA Camps and is not afraid to explore tough topics that the girls face. “I get to talk about real issues and things that are important to me,” she said. “I get to say, ‘Hey, let me tell you how the Lord has impacted my life.’”

This summer at FCA Camp in Tennessee, Kristen led breakout sessions about sexual purity and what it means to be a woman of God.

While in Boston, both Benjamin and Kirsten Watson work with FCA New England Regional Director Fouad Farris, sharing their testimonies at FCA banquets and events around the area. In fact, at an outreach event last year, Watson shared his testimony with 100 students and gave an invitation to accept Christ. Farris reports that 27 students responded. “I think, in many ways, he understands his platform,” said Farris. “It was a very fruitful night for [the kids], as well as for Benjamin.”
