January/February 2009 FCA Hall of Champions Class of 2008
Each year, FCA recognizes servant-leaders who have faithfully served Christ through FCA by inducting a select few into the ministry's Hall of Champions. This year's class is as outstanding as ever. Below is the FCA Hall of Champions Class of 2008.

As a former athlete and member of the United States Military, Britton understood what it meant to be a leader. He put his skills to work in the world of finance as a 37-year stockbroker and eventual senior vice president of Citigroup/Smith Barney.
As a Christian, Britton also had a strong passion for seeing youth come to faith in Jesus Christ, and he lived out that passion through FCA. He was active in the ministry as a board member, volunteer, prayer warrior, donor and mentor. Britton passed away in May 2008, leaving behind a legacy of faithful Christian service. |
Declared "an Olympic legend" at the 2000 Sydney Summer Games, Mims left a lasting mark on the sport of track and field. She is a four-time Olympian who set Olympic and world records on her way to gold in the 800 meters at the Mexico City Games (1968) and also captained the U.S. Olympic track team during three different Summer Games.
Throughout her life, Mims has run for much more than medals. In the 1980s, she began speaking at FCA boys' camps, and she is credited for providing the initiative needed to begin FCA girls' conferences. Mims also has turned her Olympic success into a personal ministry, serving as a U.S. Olympic Committee chaplain for five Olympic Games.
Mims and her husband, Roderick, currently reside in Tulsa, Okla., and have two children: John and Lana. |

As the senior vice president and chief financial officer for Chick-fil-A, McCabe's life is full of responsibilities. He is the primary contact for accounting, finance, taxation, employee benefits and information technology for the company.
McCabe began his career with Chick-fil-A in 1978 after graduating from the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program and serving his country as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
Despite a demanding career, McCabe has made both his faith and FCA major priorities. He is a former chairman of FCA's National Board of Trustees and currently serves on the National Advisory Board. He is also an FCA advocate in the Atlanta area, where he currently resides with his wife, Susan, and three children: Karen, Jim and Nancy. |
Dr. Kemble's passion for the Lord and dedication to FCA have shown through the many tasks he has accomplished in the San Antonio area, including forming the first Huddle at Sam Houston State University and the first Adult Huddle, the Alamo Chapter, in 1967.
Kemble, a former pastor, has served FCA as a chapel speaker, golf marathon team member and former board chairman. Currently, he and his wife, Peggy, reside in Universal City, Texas.

Betty Probasco has passionately pursued Christ through the sport of golf for many years. In 1950, she won the NCAA Championship and eventually went on to claim major, state and regional titles in five different decades.
Due to her athletic success, Probasco's name can be found in the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame and the Tennessee Golf Hall of Fame. But what is most incredible about Probasco is how she has used golf to spread the gospel. Through her influential connections, she has been able to recruit top golf talent to participate in the FCA International Pro-Am since 1980. Thanks to her efforts, hundreds of young people have been able to participate in FCA Junior Golf Camps.
